        "One of the pioneers of modern Slovenian graphic arts [[Miha Maleš]] (1903–1987) donated 2,600 of his works to the [[Municipality of Kamnik|town of Kamnik]]. Thus, in 1979, a gallery bearing his name was opened in a renovated burgher house at 2 Glavni trg in Kamnik. Since then, the [[Miha Maleš Gallery]] exhibits his works in two floors and occasionally prepares exhibitions placing his work in the context of other artists and phenomena.\n\nOne of the central, versatile personalities of Slovenian fine art, Miha Maleš is a big name in Slovenian art history. Besides being an academic painter and printmaker, he was also a great collector of works of art, the initiator and leader of ''Četrta generacija'' (the fourth generation art group), an art organiser, poet, editor and publicist. In 1977, he received the [[Prešeren Award and Prešeren Foundation Awards|Grand Prešeren Award]]."
